My Favorite Calming Resources

Use these tools on a daily basis to calm your nervous system and bring you into your center
 Vagal Toning Breath

1. Inhale deeply
2. Exhale making a continuous vvvvvv sound until your lungs are empty.
3. Pause and wait for the next inhale to come naturally
4. Inhale fully
5. Exhale vvvvvv
6. Repeat until your system feels calm

 

Tap and Breathe
 This is a simple practice of tapping through each of the points in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and taking a breath at each point. It will calm you down in any situation where you feel dysregulated.
 Calming Breath

1. Inhale deeply
2. Exhale fully
3. Inhale for a count of 4
4. Hold for a count of 7
5. Exhale for a count of 8
6. Repeat for 5-10 rounds or until you feel a noticeable shift in your system 

Polyvagal Reset
This is a video my husband, Craig Rigsby, created for his acupuncture clients to reset the nervous system. It's a quick and easy way to move from fight or flight into a calm and relaxed state.
